As discussed at the 2011 Statewide Immigrant Rights Summit in September of 2011, the Michigan Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Protection (MCIRP) was founded in 1987 by a diverse group of stakeholder seeking to share information, build capacity, and ensure just implementation of the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 (IRCA). MCIRP continues those activities today and is currently seeking new members from across the state to join us in our mission to promote inclusion and justice for immigrants and refugees in our state. At this "Re-Founding" Convention we will welcome new members, set goals and priorities for the year, identify new leaders for available positions (see below), and update our by-laws to make sure we're working together as effectively as possible statewide.
Date: Wednesday, January 11th, 2012 10:00 a.m.-4:00p.m. Lunch will be provided.
Location: Thomas M. Cooley Law School-Lansing Campus 300 S. Capitol Avenue Lansing, MI Capitol View Room
