Flint Dream Deferred Action Info Session

Carolyn Krieger, Immigration Attorney / Equal Justice Works AmeriCorp Legal Fellow with the Michigan Immigrant Rights Center, will be giving a presentation on the new President’s new policy of deferred action for certain immigrants who came to this country as children.

Under this new policy, you may qualify for deferred action if:
1. You came to the United States before the age of 16;
2. You have resided in the United States for 5 years prior to June 15, 2012;
3. You are currently enrolled in school, have graduated from high school,
have a GED, or have been honorably discharged from the military;
4. You have not been convicted of a felony or multiple misdemeanors;
5. You were 30 years old or younger on June 15, 2012.

The presentations will be in both English and Spanish. There is no need to RSVP - these sessions are free and open to the public!

Carolyn Krieger, abogada de inmigración / Miembra de Derecho de Equal Justice Works AmeriCorp con el Centro de Derechos de los Inmigrantes de Michigan, estará dando una presentación sobre el nuevo programa del Presidente de acción diferida para ciertos inmigrantes que vinieron a este país cuando eran niños.

Bajo este nuevo programa, usted puede calificar para la acción diferida si:
1. Llegó a los Estados Unidos antes de los 16 años de edad;
2. Ha vivido en los Estados Unidos por un periodo de 5 años antes del 15 de junio del 2012;
3. Está asistiendo o se ha graduado de la escuela preparatoria / “High School” o ha recibido su GED, o ha servido honorablemente en las fuerzas armadas;
4. No tiene antecedentes penales o felonías, o múltiples delitos menores;
5. No es mayor de 30 años de edad a partir del 15 de junio de 2012 Las presentaciones serán en inglés y español.

Las presentaciones serán en inglés y español. No hay necesidad de confirmar su atendencia- estas sesiones son gratuitas y abiertas al público.
