Language Access
Over the course of 10 years, MIRC and community partners worked with lawmakers to advocate for a state language access law. The law was finally passed in November 2023 and went into effect in 2024. Below you will find information about Michigan’s Meaningful Language Access to State Services Act and Statewide Meaningful Language Access Coordination Act. You will also find training materials with information about language access; the federal, state, and local laws governing language access; and how an individual can file a complaint if they did not receive appropriate language access services.
