Detroit New Americans Campaign
MIRC has a particular interest and focus on promoting naturalization (application for U.S. citizenship). We are a participant in the Detroit New Americans Campaign, a collaborative effort to encourage and assist eligible permanent residents to apply for naturalization. To carry out this work, we partner with community-, business-, and faith-based organizations to host free community workshops and walk-in clinics throughout the metro area for individuals interested in citizenship. At the workshops and clinics, attorneys help participants apply for citizenship, for free! We are also available for individual citizenship appointments.
Please call us at (734) 998-6100 x459 to schedule an appointment if you live in Metropolitan Detroit. If you live outside of Southeast Michigan, call the same number. We may be able to you, too!

*MIRC is grateful for the dozens of attorneys, law students, and community volunteers who have contributed their time and expertise at the workshops and clinics. We are always looking for attorneys and non-attorneys to assist with our naturalization efforts. Attorneys, recent law school graduates, accredited representatives, law students, and community members with no legal background are encouraged to participate. Training will be provided. If you are interested, please call (734) 998-6100 x158.
